Books!

So I was really wanting something new to read... I just can't always wait for the next exciting Vlad adventure! I just got finished reading "The Birth of Venus." It was good. I enjoyed the art references as well as the political aspects of the 1400s in Florence. I just really enjoyed the actual read too. I took the time to relax and read during my lunch breaks -to take a little me time. It's a nice way to refresh.
Reading is a good way to keep myself entertained while Russ plays his video games and I can just sit and enjoy his company too. I feel more relaxed after reading than after just sitting on my bum watching TV. I get to feel engaged. And while I'm not a speed reader by any means, I'm glad I can take my time to develop the pictures in my imagination and experience the fluidity of the language used that is often lost in today's conversations.
Hopefully I can find more authors that have the witty humor that I love in Steven Brust. Any suggestions?

Home is where I want to be

Truly, I miss the thrill of travel, the marvel of new experiences, the appreciation of the ancient and the foreign excitements. But there is nothing like coming home to a big hug (and a lick on the nose)! I can't wait to tie these two together. But the adventure is here too. Our little condo feels so much like home. The moment we stepped in to look around, the moment we moved in the first of our furnature, stepping over boxes just to get around our house. It's just right and feels so nice. Not everything is perfect, but it shouldn't be. He loves to annoy me and i love to get in his way. But just a nice cuddle and doing something to make me laugh -whether I want to or not -is just another way to make me feel like I'm home.
